Elizabeth Louise Burch
My work is all about conversation and with good conversation comes feedback, directed feedback to be precise.

I not only want an active dialogue for myself but also for my audience. I'm driven by their potential reaction, because I don't know them. I want to understand their compassion because I see so little of it in the world. Yet I refuse to accept this is the fate of humanity, life in a vacuumise state of advanced capitalism. A culture of narcism so self centered its unaware of the abuse of collective autonomy, time after time after time this has been harped about in history. People have died, kids still get hazed by mobs and drunks still gossip. The one in control is paying you a compliment and you love them, that's a sweeping generalization of course.

I happen to believe in the academic process, that is ideas are free and open without judgement. A space to be explored inside the constructed series itself. I'm certain this is what heals us, to know who is in control that our own thoughts are meaningful---that no one has to work and never has. Participation is for our own benefit, not to survive. This is the fake reality of life, to trick ones self to think independently. To learn the bully and bluff mute until they realize the cruelty of their actions. This is how I construct a series of investigation.

I also think art and technology is ultimately about people but good intentions are not enough, a creator must participate. In my work I combine object making and conceptualism to create proactive relics of social investigation. My works are created with traditional and new technologies.
