Painting to me is an attempt to keep time and therefore I see little conceptual difference between my painting and digital post-production work. I incorporate a lot of mark-making and studies from life in all my work. Over the past fifteen years I have developed a language that is certainly engaged in a long tradition of landscape painting, appropriation and abstraction. Painters Cy Twombly and David Deutsch have been great influences.

I'm a story teller but all of my myths are constructed from reality and contemporary social issues. I also tend to work in series so the works shown in this folder were selected from at least ten other paintings, sculptural or time-based mediums. I've made gizillions of paintings over the years and haven't included those paintings I made for assignments and such.
